Final Project
This picture uses muted colours with low contrast and shadows to make a dreamlike soft look. I mostly wanted to draw attention to the glitter under the eye and I think I achieved that.
This picture showcases the texture of the frost to add dimension to the photo. I also used my hand to add scale as well as another element and I used a cool colour scheme
For this photo I wanted to try a different editing technique by adjusting the photo perspective, when the blanks are filled in it creates a duplicate eye effect which I think is pretty cool. The eyes create repetition which brings the photo together.
This is another photo I using extreme edits on. I really just played around with different tools and filters to create a warped face that would also highlight the eye on. This photo is monochrome and uses value. I think the way the hair/eyelashes look is really cool.
This is a picture of a mirror reflecting my curtains. I thought the way it framed the floral pattern was quite pretty and might make a good picture. I don't like the gritty blur on the wall and frame but I still really like the way the curtains look inside.
This is a bee hive/wasp nest that I saw on the ground. I originally thought it would look good layered with another picture but in the end I liked it best on its own. I used value with a black and white colour scheme because I thought it added more depth that way. This picture is also using texture with that holes and overall look of the hive material.
For this picture I thought it would be cool to edit out one of my eyes and put something else in its place. I really wanted to showcase different types of editing I can do to show improvement from previous years. I think it looks mystical with the stars and white lights with the soft colours. I'm happy with how this picture turned out.
I covered my camera flash here to make the highlights of this log red, I think the warm red monochrome colour scheme makes for an interesting composition.
I took a picture of some red berries and thought they might look cool colour popped, I like how they look with the water droplets and I think the bright red mixed with black and white is a good combination.
I wanted to take a minimalistic photo using negative space to draw attention to this house because I thought the structure it had with the weather vane looked cool and old fashioned. I also used a cool colour scheme because it sets a colder gloomy mood.
This is a monochrome picture of leaves. I really loved the bumpy texture of the water, I think the water really elevates the picture.
I took a picture of my face because I liked the way the mirror split and then I added filters and a higher exposure to make a ghostly black and white picture. The contrast between the deep shadows and bright white is really interesting and I like how it turned out.
I saw a bike outside in the mud and thought it would make for a cool photo. With the black and white colours I think it creates a timeless feel. This photo also uses value and a bit of texture.
To get a picture of trees and fog I almost didn't make it back to class on time. But I did. I layered it with a picture of my friends palm which makes the lines in the sky, she thought they looked like ghost clouds and when a filter I used made the foreground white I thought it looked a bit like night vision.
This is a similar picture to one I used but for this one I blocked the flash to make the highlights red and colour popped the water to add a more interesting effect which took longer than I thought.
I saw pictures similar to this on pinterest and wanted to make my own version. The picture in the camera is of a statue in a garden and I colour popped it to add more emphasis. The camera also works as a frame, I'm happy with how this picture turned out.
This is a self portrait I did, I showered and thought the fogged up mirror would add a cool effect but when I edited it it wasn't super noticeable so I went back to trying fun editing tricks to make for a compelling photo. I think the dark and light contrast makes this a pretty cool image.
This is another picture of foggy trees double exposed with palm lines, this time my palm. I think they look a bit like clouds until you look closer. This picture uses negative space, I'm really happy with the foggy mood it gives.
My last photography project for this class that's so sad. It's definitely been my favourite course though and you're definitely my favourite teacher. Or at least top two or three :)
Thank you for everything
