Minimalism

hchristie013

In this photo I wanted to use value in my black and white colour scheme to create a sense of timelessness to the photo. I also used space because I think the plain simple background makes this photo have a more eye catching composition.

I edited this photo to have a warmer colour scheme. I liked bringing out the pinks and reds in my skin to go along with the reds in my ring. I think having a black back ground really adds an ominous vibe to the photo.

This photo uses value to highlight the gritty look of the boots. I like the contrast between the look of the boots to the look of the running shoes, I think it creates a cool look.

I liked having a coloured photo included here because usually when I do minimalism I stick to neutral colours. I used space with the blue sky, I liked the look of having a few trees poking out in the background.

The dark black background in this photo creates a contrast against the bright whites in the plant. The way the plant looks like it's hovering in the middle of the scene. There's also a use of balance because the plant is in the middle.

This is one of my favourites, I really like the blurred look of the spider paired with the beige/brown colours. It makes the picture feel old and worn which I think is really interesting. It kind of reminds me of a creepy polaroid.
